St. Pete Pier
St. Petersburg tore down its dated inverted-pyramid pier and opened this 26-acre waterfront district in 2020: five restaurants, an environmental education center, a playground, and public art jutting out into Tampa Bay. It's a free place to walk, eat, and watch the water, and it reanchored downtown St. Pete's waterfront. Not a "do" so much as a place to spend an easy few hours.
The 26-acre modern pier is downtown's living room: a beach, splash pad, rooftop tiki bar, marketplace, and lawn — free to wander end to end. Perry's Porch is the district's new waterfront restaurant doing old-Florida coastal fare.

Late afternoon into sunset, when the heat drops and the light over the bay is best.
Walk to the far end of the pier for the widest bay views, then work back toward the restaurants for dinner as the sun sets.
