Ballast Point Park
Ballast Point sits on Hillsborough Bay in south Tampa, a waterfront point canopied in mature, moss-draped oaks — and the site of the small 1863 Battle of Ballast Point. The bayfront park is a low-key local spot for breezes and sunset over the water toward the skyline, well off the tourist track. It's a neighborhood's front porch on the bay more than a headline attraction.
At the southern end of Bayshore, a small waterfront park with a pier out into the bay and a clean view back at the downtown skyline. No admission, no queue, no gift shop.
