Busch Gardens and the new Lions and Hyena Ridge
The flagship park's newest habitat opened this spring in Edge of Africa: a 35,000-square-foot savanna with five young lion brothers and two hyenas, viewable from a 270-degree vantage. Gate price runs about $124, with steep online discounts.

ZooTampa's Florida Waters expansion

The Riverwalk with the Pirate Water Taxi

Ybor City

Armature Works at golden hour
The restored 1910 trolley barn turned food hall anchors the Riverwalk's north end with dozens of vendors and a rooftop bar over the Hillsborough. It's the most-tagged food spot in Tampa this year, and the golden-hour river shot is why.

The soft-serve margarita crawl
Tampa Bay's official drink of summer 2026: frozen margaritas swirled soft-serve style, launched at Mad Beach Cantina on Cinco de Mayo and now spreading across the area's Mexican restaurants as the videos rack up views. Typically $10 to $15 a pour.

Sparkman Wharf

The Florida Aquarium

Adventure Island
Busch Gardens' sister water park across the street: nine slides, a wave pool, and lazy rivers. It is the default local answer to a 95-degree day, and bundling it with Busch Gardens tickets cuts the price hard.

Roasted's fruit-shaped ice cream
The family-run Temple Terrace dessert shop that blew up on TikTok for hyper-realistic fruit-shaped ice creams — whole peaches and pineapples that are actually frozen desserts. A few dollars a piece and a short drive from Busch Gardens.
