Dracula's Legacy Wine Bar & Bistro

The gothic dressing (dim candlelight, a Dracula statue lurking near the leather seating, staff leaning into the aesthetic) could easily be a gimmick, but the Neamtu family built this to show off Romanian wine culture most Americans never encounter — Fetească Neagră, Fetească Regală, and a globe-spanning list of 100-plus bottles. Come for the melty fondue, charcuterie, and a "bloody cabernet" pun on the menu; the theming is the draw, the actual Eastern European pours are the reason to stay. It's a genuinely good spooky-but-cozy date night. If you find themed restaurants exhausting or you want a quiet, un-costumed glass of wine, this is not your room.

Friday or Saturday evening for the live music, or a Wednesday "Game Night" if you'd rather linger over board games and crimson cocktails without a crowd. Saturday opens earliest at 3pm, so arrive mid-afternoon to claim the good seating before the date-night rush.

Skip the familiar French and Italian bottles and ask the staff to walk you through the Romanian varietals — a Fetească Neagră is the one wine here you almost certainly can't get anywhere else in Tampa, and it's the whole point of the place.
