South Siesta without the 950-space scene: a mangrove lagoon, motorized and non-motorized ramps, an accessible kayak launch, and a fishing pier. Swim the Gulf side. The county campground is next door at 8862 Midnight Pass, booked separately.
The southern end of the key: coarser sand, far fewer people, and actual parking. Siesta Key is not just Siesta Beach, and this is the correction most visitors never make.
