This is a boater's and budget traveler's hotel, not a resort in the beach-vacation sense. If you want a water-view room, a heated pool, an on-site tiki bar, and a place to tie up your boat overnight, all for Ramada money, it delivers exactly that. What it isn't: walkable to anything, or anywhere near the Gulf sand. Come for the marina and the price, not for polish.

Rates run highest in the winter snowbird stretch (roughly January to March); for the best value with tolerable heat, target the fall or late-spring shoulder, and note nightly rates have been seen as low as the high-$60s to $70s off-season.

Ask specifically for one of the water-view rooms overlooking the marina, then time a drink at the Tarpon Bay Grill and Tiki Bar for sunset (kitchen closes at 10pm, bar runs to midnight). Arriving by boat? Dockage is first-come, first-served, so call ahead about a slip.
