Si-am Thaimerican Restaurant
Si-am works because it's genuinely bilingual: Chinda Chomburi trained professionally in Thailand, Stephen Dohack has 39 years of restaurant experience and CIA certification. You get authentic Thai (Panang curry, drunken noodles, pineapple fried rice) cooked by Thai chefs, but also real American comfort food for the skeptics at your table. It's in downtown Tampa next to the Theatre, so it fits into an actual evening plan.
Lunch (11:00 AM–2:30 PM) if you want speed and the full menu at lower mental overhead; dinner if you're making an event of it and the Theatre is dark.
Order the Si-am Sampler as a starter—it's designed to let you taste the house philosophy in one plate, and it works as a conversation piece for mixed-preference groups.
