Henry Detwiler Sr. grew up on an 8-acre Mennonite farm in Pennsylvania and worked meat counters before starting a roadside stand that became Detwiler's in 2002. The family has since grown it into multiple markets around Sarasota, Venice, and Bradenton, still run under the founder's "eat fresh for less" mission rather than a corporate produce-chain playbook.
