Harry P Leu Gardens
Deeded to the city by the Leu family in 1961, Harry P. Leu Gardens is nearly 50 acres of Orlando greenery: one of the South's largest documented camellia collections (240-plus varieties), a formal rose garden, and the restored Leu House Museum, an 1880s home on the National Register. It's a calm, cheap counterpoint to the theme parks, a few miles from downtown.
Fifty acres of camellias, roses, and shaded lakefront paths minutes from downtown — the exhale Orlando doesn't advertise.

A renowned camellia collection across 50 acres, plus the Historic Leu House Museum.
The camellia display runs December to March, when most of Florida has nothing else blooming.
Fifty acres of camellias and old trees sitting three miles from downtown, quiet enough that the loudest thing is usually the birds.
Winter into spring for camellias and roses; mornings for cool air and soft light.
Time a visit to camellia season (roughly November–March) — the 240-variety collection is the garden's signature and most people miss its peak.
