Who should skip it
You want quiet. This is ten days of open pipes across an entire county, and the noise does not stay on Main Street.
The move
It sprawls well past Daytona — the DeLand Bike Rally takes downtown DeLand on the first Saturday, and Destination Daytona in Ormond Beach is a second centre of gravity worth the drive.
Getting there
Main Street is the traditional centre and the Speedway is eight kilometres away. They are two different days out, so decide which one you came for before you park.
One thing worth knowing
The rally grew out of the Daytona 200, first run on 24 January 1937 on a course that was half beach and half pavement.
